Back to school!

Each year in Wake County at the end of August, kids in the traditional public schools go back to classes. Parents look for back-to-school sales for backpacks, lunches, notebooks, pencils and other school supplies. There are “meet-the-teacher” events and “Open house” events at schools.

Getting involved in your children’s school is a wonderful way to stay informed about what’s going on in their classroom. Be sure to help them with their homework and attend parent-teacher meetings and other school functions. It’s a great way to be involved with your kids  – and improve your English at the same time!

For all of you with kids in starting classes, we wish you a fantastic school year!

  1. I really like how you talked about getting involved in our children school in order to track their process. Especially when it comes to learning English because it is a very difficult language to learn the older you get. We just adopted a kid from China and we have been looking for a good ESL school for him. Thanks for sharing this great article because it gave us a lot of good ideas.
